The FREERIDE Contest Gr returns once again and Greece will be a stop for the qualifying races of the FREERIDE World Tour (FWT).

Kalavryta Ski Centre and WayOut Adventures enthusiastically welcome you to the FREERIDE CONTEST GR MT HELMOS by THE NORTH FACE, which will take place on 15-17 March 2025 .

This FWT Qualifier 2* event will be held at Kalavryta Ski Resort, in an exotic mountain landscape featuring alpine terrain and breathtaking sea views. Additionally, we are thrilled to host our young athletes at the Freeride Contest GR MT Helmos Junior 2*—the next unstoppable FREERIDE generation🔥🔥—giving them the chance to experience the ultimate Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding challenge for the first time in Greece! ❄️🏂⛷️

The Freeride World Tour (FWT) races in the Greek landscape are a unique event that combines the impressive character of the sport of Freeride Ski & Snowboard, with the magnificent natural beauty of the mythical Helmos. The FWT, the world’s leading FREERIDE SKI and SNOWBOARD event, has won its place in the hearts of athletes and fans alike, offering unique experiences and thrills. A unique event that gives athletes the opportunity to move up in the FWT world rankings and qualify for the most popular Freeride World Championship. International and Greek skiers will take part in the race to compete for their qualification to the final, and spectators will have the opportunity to enjoy a unique celebration on the mountain, full of breathtaking spectacle.

Technical Specifications – Venue

Summit elevation: 2.020m.

Vertical Drop: 320m.

Slope: ^40°Average snowfall(in cm): 1,9m-2,5m

Run length: 650m

The imposing and demanding competition face, located outside the ski resort boundaries, requires high technical skills and experience from the athletes, adding excitement and suspense for both competitors and spectators.

The best viewing spots are:
✔ The area around the chalet of Kalavryta Ski Resort, near the finish line, and directly opposite the competition face.

FREERIDE CONTEST GR MT HELMOS FWT Junior U18

U18 Ski (Under 18yrs old – U14,U16,U18)
U18 Snowboard (Under 18yrs old – U14,U16,U18)

The jury will consist, according to international guidelines, of a Head-Judge from the international organization, 2 judges for snowboard and 2 for ski. The briefing of the judges will be done by the Head Judge according to the instructions.

The registration fee for the Qualifier 2* is 86 €. It includes the ski pass for the day of the race, 40% discount on the ski pass on the other days of the event, the BIB, 20% discount at the chalet of the HKK and accident insurance.

The registration fee for the Junior 2* is 56 €. It includes the ski pass for the day of the race, 40% discount on the ski pass on the other days of the event, the BIB, 20% discount at the chalet of the HKK and accident insurance.

ï Back protection (with CE certification, bags with built-in protection are not valid)

ï Probe (metallic, 240cm or larger, strong texture)

ï Shovel (metallic, strong texture)

ï Avalanche beacon (on body, activated, with fresh batteries, “3 antennas”, strong constitution)
